Tax Accounting Manager – Tax Reporting
Keurig Dr Pepper | Frisco / Plano, TX | Hybrid – 3 days in office | Reports to: Tax Director
Role Overview
The tax function of the future is being built now—and we want one of the people building it. As Tax Accounting Manager – Reporting at Keurig Dr Pepper, you will be hands-on at the heart of the global income tax provision and SEC disclosures for a Fortune 500 consumer brand company under U.S. GAAP (ASC 740). Technical mastery is the starting line, not the finish line.
This role is for a modern tax operator: someone who keeps multiple timelines moving at high velocity, catches the discrepancy everyone else scrolled past, and rolls up their sleeves to build AI and automation into the work—not just talk about it.
Reporting to the Tax Director and supported by a team of analysts, you will work with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax Technology, and our external auditors to deliver a faster, smarter close.
Why Join
- • Big stage: SEC tax reporting for a $11B+ company whose brands are in nearly every fridge and pantry in America.
- • Deals, not just the day-to-day: Acquisitions, restructurings, carve-outs, and discontinued operations land on your desk.
- • Permission to build: You won’t just be handed tools—you’ll pick, test, and build the AI and automation that changes how we work.
- • Room to breathe: Hybrid with 3 days in office, plus a team of analysts in your corner.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Provision & Financial Reporting
- • Run the provision: Prepare and review the quarterly and annual global income tax provision under ASC 740—current and deferred tax, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions—plus the 10-Q and 10-K footnotes that tie, roll forward, and reconcile.
- • Bring it all together: Execute the U.S. and non-U.S. consolidation in OTP, review regional reporting packages, and chase down entity-level variances until every number lands cleanly.
- • Follow the cash: Prepare or review the tax account reconciliations, cash tax payments, and payable balances—no unexplained gaps, no surprises.
- • Keep reserves honest: Perform the quarterly tax reserve analysis, including interest and penalties, and keep documentation current.
- • Close the loop on returns: Prepare and review provision-to-return analyses and book the true-ups.
- • Forecast the rate: Maintain interim and annual ETR and cash tax forecasts in OTP for both ASC 740 and non-GAAP measures.
- • Transactions: Prepare the tax accounting analysis for acquisitions, restructurings, held-for-sale and discontinued operations, carve-outs, and any other significant transactions in the quarter with the support of outside service providers, as needed.
- High-Velocity Project Management
- • Own the close calendar: Track every provision deliverable from kickoff to sign-off.
- • Juggle without dropping: Assign and review analyst and contractor work and rebalance on the fly when priorities shift.
- • Run projects in parallel: Support special projects alongside the recurring close without missing core deadlines.
- • Raise the flag early: Surface risks and timing issues to the Tax Director before they become problems.
- Accuracy, Controls & Review
- • First line of defense: Perform detailed review of workpapers, reconciliations, journal entries, and disclosures—catching the structural and numeric issues others miss.
- • Build the safety net: Create validation checks and exception reports that catch errors automatically.
- • SOX-ready, always: Execute and evidence SOX controls and respond to internal and external testing requests.
- • Audit support: Deliver complete, well-organized support to external auditors the first time.
- Process Innovation & Technology
- • Scout and test: Identify and pilot AI and automation tools for specific provision and reconciliation steps.
- • Build, don’t just request: Personally build Alteryx, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot solutions that eliminate manual, spreadsheet-heavy work.
- • Keep it audit-ready: Document automated processes and controls so they hold up to SOX and auditor scrutiny.
- • Show the receipts: Track hours saved and accuracy gains from what you build.
- Team & Collaboration
- • Grow the team: Train and coach analysts on ASC 740 and tax technology.
- • Partner broadly: Work with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and Tax Technology to get data and hit deadlines.
- • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Total Rewards:
- Salary Range: $96,800 - $160,000
- Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
- Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
- Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility
