Job Overview:

KDP is looking to hire an energized and organized lawyer to provide primary support to KDP’s Canadian beverage business, in addition to providing support to commercial functions in the U.S. and internationally.  We are looking for great talent to round out our team.

As the Corporate Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal support and direction to the Company in a wide range of commercial areas, including providing day-to-day legal support for KDP’s Canadian beverage business, which includes famous brands such as Clamato, Canada Dry and Crush. You will provide general commercial legal support and advice in various commercial areas, including procurement, sales and distribution, manufacturing, human resources, and compliance.

The Corporate Counsel will report to the VP and Assistant General Counsel.

This position is a hybrid role based in Frisco, TX, with in-office work from Tuesday to Thursday and remote work on Monday and Friday.

In the role of the Corporate Counsel, you will:

  • Support several aspects of the general operations of the Canadian beverage business and KDP’s international beverage business.
  • Advise internal clients regarding commercial (sales and distribution) matters, contract disputes, and other commercial matters.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements/provide legal support with respect to procurement of raw materials and indirect items, and support procurement and strategic manufacturing operations.
  • Support for local regulatory requirements – environmental, competition law, alcohol regulations, etc.
  • Collaborate and develop cross-functional relationships with internal clients as well as developing strong commercial partnerships to assist in driving the commercial agenda.
  • Support the local HR Director with general advice and co-ordination with the US-based employment law team.

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $155,000 - $221,500
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
  • Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctorate from accredited institution
  • Fluency in French preferred
  • Experience in general corporate law within a corporation ideally from the food & beverage or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in Canadian laws and business practices
  • Complex negotiation experience
  • Nimble thinker, collaborative, and comfortable working with senior management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
