Job Description



The Test Engineer, Electronics and Software will establish and execute a strategy to validate Keurig appliance hardware and firmware.  Using the customer as a guide, the Test Engineer will collaborate with multi-functional team members to influence smoke and regression testing and take responsibility for testing to stress system performance under abnormal and edge case conditions. Primary responsibilities include creating design validation plans, writing test cases, overseeing testing and authoring test reports. Test Engineers at Keurig leverage broad technical experience and analytical skill sets to make decisions based on accurate, reproducible results. Comfort working in a highly dynamic and collaborative work environment is a must.

What you will do:

  • Develop and execute validation plans for Keurig brewer technologies spanning front-end research and downstream product development, system level architecture and discrete feature sets
  • Enhance Keurig’s testing infrastructure for end to end validation of brewer electronics, firmware and IoT connected technology
  • Identify, assess and manage risk to influence preventative measures, validation activities and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Direct testing contracted to third party laboratories ensuring data accuracy and adherence to test protocols
  • Write scripts to control and monitor brewer behavior in order to measure system performance
  • Author, review and circulate test reports. Compare and interpret results of tests against specifications and/or historical data. Ensure validity and completeness of test data and reports and solve testing problems as they arise  
  • Continually assess and recommend efficiency, speed or capability improvements  to engineering labs in response to shifting program or organizational needs
  • Lead FMEA events and drive risk mitigation strategies to reduce cost, technical or schedule risk through design, modeling or testing activities
  • Engage and interact with test technicians to educate on new and existing test protocols and tools
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with established Safe Work Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems
  • Follow all Keurig policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

What you must have:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or a related technical degree required. Electronics, software or systems engineering preferred but not required
  • 5-10+ years of relevant experience
  • Self-motivated and results oriented approach with a demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Continuous improvement and LEAN mentality
  • Ability to multitask and maintain focus on priorities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, etc.
  • Able to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Experience with system integration testing on embedded software/firmware and IoT connected devices
  • Experience with Jira and/or Jira Xray test management tool sets
  • Exposure to one or more programming languages/environments: C,C++,Java,C#,.NET, Python, LabVIEW
  • Knowledge of lean product development tools. Six Sigma, Certified Quality or Reliability Engineer or equivalent certification highly desired
  • Familiarity with Agile and/or Scrum methodologies, DFMEA, Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R)
  • Experience managing technical projects in the consumer product or similar industry
