Job Description



As the Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for selling company coffee, brewing systems and accessories to approved Distributors within Foodservice and Convenience channels, including re-Distributors such as Dot Foods.  You will report to the sales lead and will be a key member of an extended team. You will represent the company to these accounts, and the accounts to the company, in all sales-oriented activities. Given that you will own a broad range of products, your retention and growth of the accounts will have a strategically significant impact on the success and growth of the company. Success in these channels is fundamental to Keurig Dr Pepper's (KDP's) overall plan to drive penetration of the Keurig system. In order to achieve your objectives, you must utilize strategic thinking to create joint business plans, influence internal stakeholders, and solve highly complex customer challenges.

What you will do:

  • Effectively communicate specific programs, pricing and contract details to all customers
  • Manage and maintain contractual agreements with customers by engaging appropriate stakeholders and following the prescribed process
  • Maintain cross-functional internal and external relationships
  • Hold external and internal quarterly business meetings
  • Partner with customers on category management and joint business planning, leveraging joint multifunctional teams from both supplier and account
  • Demonstrate strong strategic sales and negotiation skills
  • Utilize strong communication with all stakeholders regarding customer, channel and industry insights and competitive trends
  • Create Annual Operating Plan (AOP), measured by growth of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Effectively manage trade systems and dollars
  • Proactively share best practices with peers
  • Lead & coordinate customer activities to drive revenue growth

  • Foodservice Distributors (including, but not limited to): Sysco, PFG, US Foods, Gordon Foods
  • Convenience Distributors (including, but not limited to): J Polep, HLA, Coremark, McLane
  • Re-Distributors (including, but not limited to): Dot Foods


Requirements

What you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 6 years of sales and/or distribution experience required
  • Prefer experience in Fortune 500 company, or in the Consumer Packaged Goods, Beverage, Small Appliance or related industries.
  • Developing sales plans and executing via an effective sales strategy
  • Demonstrated success in launching and selling products to retail customers
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, exhibiting a high degree of drive and energy and the ability to consistently produce results
  • Innovative and creative thinker and problem solver who can maintain focus through completion
  • Well organized, disciplined planner and implementer
  • Strategic thinker with strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Must be completely PC proficient, able to develop his/her own oral and visual presentations, spreadsheets and general correspondence
  • Ability to travel up to 35%
