Strategic Account Manager – Away From Home Sales


As the Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for selling company coffee, brewing systems and accessories to leading distributor partners in the Away From Home division. You will report to the Director of Sales and will be a key member of the Away From Home Sales team. You will represent the company to the account, and the account to the company, in all sales-oriented activities. Your retention and growth of the account will have a strategically significant impact on the success of the company. In order to achieve your objectives, you must utilize strategic thinking to create joint business plans, influence external stakeholders, and solve for highly complex customer opportunities.

This is a remote home office role based anywhere on the East Coast that allows easy access to travel throughout the East region.

What you will do:

  • Demonstrate strong strategic sales and negotiation skills
  • Motivate and coach distributor partner sales teams to better sell the KDP portfolio to their customers
  • Develop and execute specific programs, pricing and contract details internally and externally
  • Organize and lead external quarterly business planning meetings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive growth, especially Marketing and Commercialization teams
  • Contribute to development of an Annual Operating Plan (AOP), measured by Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 
  • Utilize strong communication with all stakeholders regarding customer, channel and industry insights
  • Effectively manage trade systems and investments
  • Execute collaborative planning and forecasting processes with distributor partners
  • Manage and maintain contractual agreements with distributor partners
  • Proactively share best practices with peers


What you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 10 years of experience preferred, or Master's degree and minimum 7 years of experience preferred
  • Experience in Fortune 500 company, or in the Consumer Packaged Goods, Beverage, Small Appliance or related industries preferred
  • Experience successfully developing sales plans and executing on them to consistently produce results
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, exhibiting a high degree of drive and energy to deliver growth
  • Strong strategic thinking ability able to problem solve while maintaining focus on the larger goal
  • Ability to organize and prioritize through disciplined planning
  • Complete PC proficiency, able to develop oral and visual presentations clearly communicating  complex topics
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
