Job Description

The Allentown operation is a state of the art aseptic bottling and variety packaging facility along with a full beverage distribution center.  The site operation will function on the foundational principles of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance); principles of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma; and the power of High Performance Teams.  All associates at the Allentown site will have specific accountability and ownership to the site operations and to their respective functional business operation.  The site will run on state of the art enterprise information technology systems and manufacturing execution systems; and with highly automated processing equipment, packaging equipment, and material movement equipment; and very standardized lean processes.  This position will be responsible for the Quality functions for the Manufacturing and Distribution sites.


Quality Manager

As a direct report to the Site Director, the Quality Manager provides site leadership in quality assurance, Expectation to become a network subject matter expert in the aseptic process. This individual is accountable for the development and implementation of strategies, systems and programs to be executed by site leaders towards the goals of perfectly safe food/beverage products as defined by FSMA, six sigma Quality performance and 100% compliance to all FDA regulations and GFSI requirements.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Advanced understanding of GMP, HACCP, FSMA, Safe Quality Food Principles, Food Defense Principles & Quality Management Systems, CAPA (Corrective Action / Preventive Action)
  • Manage the quality aspects of a high/low acid manufacturing process including related process authority and regulatory requirements. 
  • Prepare, review and submit compliance reports to local, state/federal environmental regulatory agencies and to key customers.
  • Lead development, execution and improvement of all Quality Assurance Programs, Policies and Procedures delivering Quality Excellence to all Allentown teams
  • Develop the necessary training modules to ensure that training personnel and employees understand and can execute established procedures while meeting all FDA, DOT and GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) requirements.
  • Regularly inspect and monitor the facility to ensure that the plant is fully operating in compliance with KDP Policy & Procedures, FSMA, FDA GMP regulations and GFSI guidelines.
  • Ability to establish and manage departments operating budget, including but not limited to Headcount, Compensation, Material & Supplies, Repair & Maintenance, and Professional Fees.
  • Understand and apply moderately complex mathematical concepts, to include statistics, in support of continuous improvement and statistical process control efforts
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, analysis quality data and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Support new product, new materials, and new supplier qualifications, working with R&D, Procurement, Corporate Quality and within CQV NPD change process
  • Provide daily dispositions and resolutions to production quality issues.



  • 5 years of operational management experience in a large, complex food/beverage manufacturing facility with 2 years of management experience within a Quality leadership role. Beverage manufacturing industry experience, specifically, aseptic processing of beverages, low acid FDA Process etc preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Food Engineering or related degree preferred
  • Previous experience leading a team of technical, salary and hourly associates – Able to build and reinforce quality acumen while partnering with the production and maintenance teams.
  • Strong working knowledge using SAP and data collection systems; Minitab/JMP/SAS or similar statistical software tools, LIMS, SharePoint, PlanView, MS Project preferred
  • Previous experience using MS Office tools (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Access)
  • Prior experience driving improvements impacting achievement of KPI goals while managing Dashboards, Scorecards and Visual Management tools relative to quality, safety and cost
  • Deep knowledge of FSMA, HACCP and FDA Regulations; SQF/FSSC 22000 and PCQI Certified
  • Strong expertise in Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, TQM, Lean Six Sigma, and TPM experience
  • Proven track record of successful regulatory compliance, audits and reports (SQF/FSSC 22000, FDA, Military and Customer)
  • Experience in Greenfield Operational Start-up of large food/beverage manufacturing facility preferred
