Job Description

Shipping & Receiving Clerk 

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for shipping, receiving, returns, carrier relations, order management, product management and customer service.  Assumes prompt, accurate, and systematic handling of finished goods and raw materials orders while providing outstanding customer service

Shift and Schedule: 2nd Shift - Monday through Friday with a start time between 3pm or 3:15p, until work is done. Must be flexible to work any other day/time when needed.

Compensation: the rate of pay for this position is $15.33 per hour.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure all dock safety protocol is being followed
  • Reports confirmation of daily loads to ensure no material shortages
  • Ensures proper handling and storage practices in facility
  • Conduct and assists with supplier pallet audits
  • Outbound Shipping paperwork
    • BOLs including applying seals
    • Maintains shipping procedures are followed
    • Trailer inspections (reports non conformances)
  • Post and share inbound and outbound schedules
  • Check in and out truck drivers in a timely manner using Carrier Point ( logistics software used by Ryder)
  • Review trailer inventory from WD and production needs
  • Issuing and verifying HUM labels for assigned production and shipments
  • Bronze level TPS
  • Maintain 5’s standards
  • Conduct root cause analysis
  • Report building and mechanical dock information to maintenance for repairs
  • Actively participate in internal Kaizen events
  • Daily overtime including weekends as required: (shift coverage overlapping of shifts)
  • Provides backup coverage to IC department when required
  • Assists in cycle counts and year-end inventory take activities


    • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
    • Forklift Certified
    • 1 year logistics or shipping/ receiving experience
    • Proficient in math
    • Oral and Written communication skills (English) Bilingual in Spanish a plus
    • Good attendance (no written warnings)
    • Familiar with SAP or similar software
    • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft word
    • Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 60 pounds repeatedly, walking and standing for long period of time.
