Job Description

This position is responsible for cost accounting and operational analysis for the supply chain plant including manufacturing, transportation, and inventory. This role is critical in ensuring that the month end process, monthly forecast, and the annual budget are completed on time and are accurate within 2% of actual costs. This role is also critical in providing the proper operational and financial support to the operations team to drive costs down and improve the cost efficiency of the facility.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Financial Close
  • Ensure all expenses are accounted properly at period end and accruals are posted
  • Complete Month End Inventory settlement to recognize Labor, OH and Depreciation
  • Ensure all ledgers are closed timely and accurately

2. Variance Analysis provided to the operations team accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Material Usage – Yield
  • Labor Spend Reporting
  • Overhead Spend
  • Transportation rates and moves

3. Inventory Support

  • Monitor and review inventory losses and support operational decisions to reduce Yield losses
  • Support and engage in physical counting process, both month end and year end

4. Monthly Forecast and Flash

  • Ensure forecast and flash is provided to corporate supply chain by deadline, ensuring accuracy within 2%

5. Annual Budget

  • Provide financial support to operations team to make accurate budgeting decisions
  • Ensure budget is provided to corporate supply chain by deadline

6. Rapid Continuous Improvement (RCI)

  • Engage in RCI and focus improvement events at the plant level to drive cost savings
  • Provide financial support and analysis for project validation
  • Track savings in the financial statements

7. Capital Expenditures

  • Review depreciation schedules and engage engineering and Fixed Asset team to ensure depreciation is budgeted appropriately and the capital project is paying back as anticipated

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field of study from an accredited university and relevant work experience preferred.
  • 2 years of advanced technical skills in Excel and other basic Microsoft applications; Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.


  • 2+ years of related experience with cost accounting, general accounting, financial analysis, or related field.
  • 2 years experience operating in a SAP environment.
  • 2 years of Supply Chain experience.
