Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) is looking for a Senior Director, IT PMO who will be responsible for leading a team of IT professionals charged with delivering a high-quality portfolio of IT projects across KDP functions and business units. The role of the Senior Director, IT PMO is to oversee process improvement and the continuous development of our project management processes, methods, and tools.  Pivotal to this role will helping lead the transformation to a new IT operating model founded on lean and agile principles.  This includes shifting to deeper adoption of agile delivery of initiatives and ongoing product-centric teams.  This role also oversees the IT project planning, governance and stage gate project lifecycle processes, while supporting a community of practice across the IT project management community.

This individual will work out of the Plano, Texas or Burlington, MA offices and will report to the VP IT, Integration & PMO.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish the long-term strategy and operating model for the KDP IT PMO
  • Lead the identification and development of PMO roles, team configuration and recruitment appropriate to deliver the agreed-upon PMO goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with Business Partner teams, IT Procurement, IT Finance, Enterprise Architecture, and other IT teams with regard to PMO operational processes
  • Partner with IT Leadership on the lean agile transformation approach for KDP IT and drive efforts to redesign processes and roles aligned with that strategy
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of standard project and program management methodologies and tools to improve the probability of successful project delivery
  • Monitor program status across the portfolio and effectively communicate status to all stakeholders via project data repositories, status reports, project planning tools, presentations, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to financial control processes (e.g., stage gate requirements to deploy capital)
  • Define and implement governance processes/structures in accordance with our agile development and phase-gate processes that enable appropriate planning, scheduling, executing, monitoring and controlling across the program
  • Design and implement continuous improvements in the project methodology, including project lifecycle stage gate processes
  • Design and implement improvements in the toolset used to facilitate our core PMO operational processes, including project scheduling, resource management, financial management, status reporting, project lifecycle workflow, time tracking, and document management
  • Provide leadership to the IT training and IT organizational change management functions
  • Coordinate the IT Project AOP process, including prioritization by IT leadership, and ongoing demand prioritization and capacity management
  • Fulfill Product Owner role for the Planview portfolio management tool
  • Facilitate tracking of benefits realization across the IT project portfolio
  • Establish and maintain effective risk management and dependency management discipline across IT programs
  • Champion adherence to audit and control requirements
  • Forecast the demand and availability of Program Directors, Portfolio Managers, Project Managers and Project Coordinators, and partner with other IT functions to address gaps
  • Oversee interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding of permanent and contractor Program Directors, Project Managers and Project Coordinators
  • Provide ongoing training, mentoring, and coaching to Program Directors, Project Managers and Project Coordinators so that a Center of Excellence around project management capabilities is fully established
  • Serve as a part-time agile coach to team members by understanding drivers of team velocity and effective decision making


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field
  • Fifteen or more years of experience in IT and business/industry (experience in consumer products preferred)
  • Project Manager PMI/PMP certification desirable
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience managing programs and projects or a PMO function and leading diverse teams
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum teams integrated with traditional program management methods
  • Experience with one or more project management methodologies (e.g., PMI PMBOK, PRINCE2) and integration of agile/rapid learning cycle environments into overall program success
  • Aptitude with project portfolio management (PPM) applications (e.g., Planview) and enterprise agile tools (e.g., Jira) desirable
  • Deep program management skills and experience, plus significant knowledge of project planning tools with evidence of practical application
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate the PMO vision, and inspire and motivate PMO staff
  • A distinctive blend of business, IT, financial and communication skills
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills
  • Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic resource plan
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Collaborative, appreciative style of management and engagement with others
  • Ability to facilitate and drive continuous process improvements on the job and partner with other functions/individuals
  • Up to 25% travel
