Knowledge Management Specialist/PLM Business Process Analyst

How would you like to be part of our exciting Appliance Business and support our brewer product development?  Do you have experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)? Our Appliance Business Knowledge Management Team is seeking a motivated, organized Knowledge Management Specialist to join our team. The Knowledge Management Specialist will have senior-level industry experience preferably in a consumer products industry, and play a pivotal role in making our documentation process efficient and accurate, while enabling our products to be the best in class for cost, quality, and performance.

What You Will Do

  • Lead projects independently with minimal supervision
  • Be responsible for leading knowledge reusability initiatives including classification of parts and documents, and maintaining taxonomy
  • Complete Product Definition activities such as creating product data models (BOMs/Bills of Information), and guiding content owners and authors on required information and data
  • Demonstrate advanced information management skills, demonstrate the use of company software and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)/database systems
  • Be detail oriented and understand the importance of structured information for storing and retrieving knowledge
  • Take a lead role in the publication of Policies, Procedures, Training Materials, and Standards for engineering document management utilizing industry best practices, while demonstrating an extraordinary work ethic and commitment to projects, timelines, and their successful outcomes
  • Pursue and execute continuous improvement opportunities with a focus on PLM Process Improvements
  • Identify opportunities for increased efficiencies and improvements in the sharing of knowledge by analyzing existing processes, procedures, data storage, and tools
  • Monitor metrics and leverage analytics and user feedback to report on knowledge management performance
  • Have excellent collaboration skills and willingness to be the steward of our engineering standards
  • Participate in the publication of Policies, Procedures, Training Materials, and Standards for efficient document management
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop and curate content collections and identify content gaps
  • Promote the use of knowledge management solutions
  • Work with other KM team members in defining customer requirements, driving projects to completion, anticipating problems and successfully launching solutions to meet those requirements
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to projects and timelines
  • Possibility of 5% travel


What You Must Have

  • Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Technology or Technical  Information Management Discipline, or equivalent experience, required
  • 7+ years related experience in PLM
  • Experience working in Product Data Management tools (ex. Siemens Teamcenter)
  • Experience in Knowledge Management including taxonomy and classification
  • Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills
  • Computer skills: spreadsheet, Visio (or similar), word processing, PowerPoint, e-mail, collaboration systems; Database administration knowledge and skills is a plus. Experience using Confluence is a plus
  • Basic familiarity with CAD files is a plus
  • Interest in working in a fast, high-performance team environment, learning new tools and processes, and being flexible
