Job Description

The Manager of Field Sales (MFS) is an integral part of the sales organization, responsible for directly managing Account Managers (AM) and setting goals, activities, and direction for the AMs. The MFS owns Away From Home (AFH) brewer and beverage sales for assigned customers and is responsible for delivering an annual operation plan (AOP), building an effective team, developing others, managing trade funds and training Keurig Authorized Distributor – Staples, and their sales and service teams.  The MFS will work closely with all Keurig Dr. Pepper (KDP) departments in the development and implementation of programs and promotions to support the goals and objectives for Staples Team.  The MFS must have a proven history of successfully leading teams and building collaborative partnerships with large regional or national customers.


  • Responsible for coordination, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the department/team and creating a positive climate where people want to do their best.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's Values, policies and applicable laws.
  • Accountable for communication, interviewing and hiring, training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, leveraging team and individual strengths, managing performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and solving problems to ensure high performance results.


  • Optimize the performance of each Staples KAD via hands-on management and training of field personnel.
  • Develop and communicate a customer product (brewer and beverage) strategy to achieve annual operating plan (AOP) targets within their assigned customer base, as measured by key performance indicators.
  • Deliver the Keurig Value Proposition and profitability story to Staples within the segment to motivate and influence customer activity, focus and results.
  • Manage and maintain contractual provisions and other company policies to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Create and communicate business building growth ideas for their assigned customer base.
  • Represent the company at Trade Shows—and as required—outside of designated region.
  • Help drive end user interest in Keurig via prospecting meetings and cold calling from time to time to high potential targets.
  • Develop effective and respectful relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Travel up to 50% and work a flexible schedule.


  • Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by Keurig Dr. Pepper and the department.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.



  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred, and 5-7 years successful sales experience working with a third-party distribution network, or 10 years equivalent sales experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following a plus: Consumer Packaged Goods, Beverage, or related industries.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Skilled at data extraction and analytics with the ability to communicate information effectively across multiple departments; Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), CRM Management, Trade Fund Management and Online Meeting tools
  • Understanding of sales functions, including strategic selling, fact-based selling, and customer engagement.
  • Ability to uphold safety standards, participates in continuous process improvement on the job, and follows our manufacturing best practices.
  • Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to follow Keurig Green Mountain policies and procedures as well as our Values.


  • The MFS is expected to maintain a home office for company business.
  • Position requires approximately 50% travel, including some nationwide travel. Individual must be available and willing to travel both on a daily basis and on overnight trips.  A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally, in order to set up demos, including lifting brewers/equipment.
  • When in the office, predominately sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (67% - 100% of the workday).
