The Director of Brand Marketing - CORE is responsible for developing a short and long-term vision and strategy across the CORE brand. This person will manage a team and will report directly to the VP of Brand Marketing, Water. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of progressive marketing or brand experience and a leadership style that fuses inspiration with a passion for making a difference.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a High-Performing Team
      • Deploy general manager mindset to drive business strategies and position us for success. Leverage strong consumer and commercial knowledge and financial acumen to deliver annual operating plan.
      • Build a high-performing team by delivering clear strategies, hiring top talent, and delivering strong coaching through situational leadership and candid growth conversations.
      • Inspire others to take action through authentic leadership, passion, and commitment to winning.
    • Build a Sustainable Growth Strategy
      • Lead development of a long-term brand strategy – mapping where and how to expand while meeting aggressive growth targets to deliver AOP and long-term growth. Integrate consumer learning, brand analysis, category understanding, trend growth expectations, marketplace dynamics, pricing analyses, competitive activity, brand positioning, previous pipeline design and product life cycle to drive recommendations and plans.
      • Develop and execute brand evolution path.
    • Deliver Consumer Insights That Drive Action
      • Own CCS for CORE, responsible for integration and socialization across organization and establishing clearly defined roles for innovation.
      • Translate and communicate brand's unique selling propositions to key stakeholders - consumers, customers, and cross-functional partners.
    • Innovate to Address Consumer Needs
      • Lead the development and commercialization of insight-based innovation pipeline for CORE by identifying portfolio white space opportunities that are anchored in the brand’s strong DNA/positioning in conjunction with cross-functional teams including Strategy, Innovation, and Brand.
  • Drive Consumer Engagement Through Communication Strategy & Messaging
    • Drive communication and messaging strategy for CORE by working with cross-functional partners in media, activation, sponsorships, and commercial partners to drive consumer communications.
    • Lead significant, high visibility growth initiatives across water portfolio that includes a strong communications strategy and execution component as well as commercial alignment.
  • Champion Our Brands and Drive Alignment Across the Organization

  • Drive organizational and customer engagement behind brand strategies to generate excitement, align on priorities, and ensure we deliver strong execution. Drive alignment behind CORE brand strategy with ELT and key commercial stakeholders.
  • Responsible for driving integration and alignment with cross-functional partners including:
    • Sharing of data and consumer foundational knowledge with cross-functional partners
    • Marketing lead for commercially-led customer Joint Business Planning Meetings and customer Top-To-Top meetings as well as initial evaluation of business development opportunities in conjunction with the Business Development, Emerging Brands, Innovation, and R&D teams.
    • Influence and coordinate with supply chain, commercial, R&D, etc. on brand initiatives.
    • Support the commercial organization with selling materials for brand (i.e., sell decks, one-pagers, videos, etc.).
    • Represents CORE brand strategy and updates to the ELT.
  • Measure Success
  • Set high performance standards, measure for success, and adjust plan to deliver against growth agenda.
  • Responsible for brand scorecard inclusive of portfolio analysis and metrics as well as, standardization of causal and results metrics.
  • Partner with commercial teams to track/support execution of brand performance and programs on an ongoing basis. 
  • Lead post-launch analyses for brand initiatives (with support from insights and cross-functional partners).
  • Work with Finance to lead brand budget consolidation, gain visibility to brand P&L on a monthly basis, and track progress against AOP objectives.

Requirements

  • MBA strongly preferred or extensive CPG experience
  • 15 years of brand marketing/brand management experience with 7 years of CPG/Beverage Brand Management experience
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Relocation to Plano, TX area is required with 10%-15% travel
