Job Description

The supervisor is responsible for the execution of the department operations and to maintain the desired productivity, quality, and timeliness of department output. These responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy, adherence and completeness for policies, procedures, and internal controls.  Implementation of process and system efficiencies to create value-add support to DPSG.  Works closely with Finance management, Field Sales, Information Technology, and other AR teams to review controls and process efficiencies. Enforce GAAP, SOX and other authoritative accounting guidance as well as Company policies and procedures for deduction clearing.  This position will also be responsible for driving continuous process improvement and providing insights regarding root cause of issues.

The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and able to work independently and resolve issues without direct supervision.  Another critical success factor will be the candidate’s ability to make complex decisions in a thoughtful, rational manner, and subsequently support and coordinate the decision.


  • Accounting
    • Ensure that deductions are audited and cleared correctly and in accordance with GAAP, SOX and Company policies and procedures to support accurate P&L reporting.
    • Ensure that SOX control tests/validations are being conducted thoroughly and completely.
    • Enforce good accounting practices in deduction clearings and reconciliations.
  • Business Decision Support
    • Maintain a superior level of understanding of the Trade business processes including components that impact deductions.
    • Conduct necessary research and analysis to understand and resolve deductions.
    • Ensure the timely clearing of deductions and resolution of deduction issues.
    • Through understanding of the logic and philosophy of the Company’s policies, procedures and controls, provide the proper cause of action to resolve indefinable situations (grey areas).
  • Process Improvement
    • Evaluate and identify opportunities for improvement. Provide recommendations to management and sales division pinpointing opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and reduce costs.
    • Lead the implementation of improvements to processes and systems.
    • Prepare and support other initiatives as requested.
  • People Development 
    • Responsible for all aspects of the Performance Management Process (including reviews, personal learning development, career planning, ratings, merits, rewards and objectives)
    • Assist with the recruiting, hiring, and training of new colleagues.
    • Provide necessary and on-going training for employees
    • Lead by example; demonstrate qualities of a High Performing team member and guide team to do the same


  • Degree preferred in: Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, or Marketing
  • 4-6 years experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Highly computer literate with working knowledge of SAP (FSCM or Demantra – a plus)
  • Advanced Excel skills and other data mining tool experience required.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of information, identify & communicate key themes
  • Facilitation and communication skills, Customer service orientation with experience supporting commercial teams.
