Job Description



As a  Sr. Quality Engineer you will occupy a key role in the Quality Engineering – Appliance department.  You will be a champion for voice of the consumer in our Product Development process.  You will be responsible for bringing field performance data along with competitive performance data to our decisions to ensure our products delight consumers during their brewing experience.  Leveraging LEAN principles along with APQP processes will be required.  Additionally, knowledge of quality systems, statistical tools, FMEA, and process capability are key skills and knowledge for this person to bring to this role.   You will be responsible for understanding the overall quality targets for the portfolio and set targets for each product in the portfolio.   You will work closely with the Technology, Test, Sourcing, Contract Manufacturing Suppliers and other Quality teams on multiple activities in support of on-going product quality/ reliability improvement efforts.  This function applies strong technical expertise in appliance technology and quality tool knowledge to Keurig appliance evaluation to assure that all specifications are fulfilled.

You will have the ability to create and contribute to product qualification test documents used to evaluate new/ revised appliance compliance within company standards.  Excellent communication skills along with ability to work in a highly matrixed global environment are required. Additionally, you’ll need to make decisions quickly with the appropriate amount of data to support your position.

What you will do:

  • Act as a guardian of the Keurig Brand.
  • Work closely with the Appliance Engineering group and Supply Chain team in support of product development and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in cross functional meetings and drive the Quality agenda into those meetings
  • Research broadly for lessons learned and competitive info relative to the product(s) you are supporting.
  • Work closely with the Product Development teams to quickly assess new technologies and the potential quality impacts of said technologies.
  • Present and review data related to specific issues to support decisions to peers and executives.
  • Participate in product development and product review meetings and/or process FMEA as needed.
  • Work closely with global supply chain teams to develop solutions or mitigate risks as needed.
  • Promptly review product returns to identify root causes, and coordinate efforts to contain and eliminate the issues identified. Special focus on customer returns processed through Retailers.
  • Work closely with Customer Care and Service teams to ensure launch readiness
  • Maintain and publish periodic reports to management summarizing quality performance and key actions for continuous improvement of products.
  • Work with Service and Keurig Authorized Distributors to identify issues promptly
  • Establish standard procedure formats and maintain library of QC protocol documents that can be readily used by other teams as required.
  • Foster working relationships amongst partners to promote packaging quality, robustness, and reliability.
  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel required.
  • Follow all Keurig Dr. Pepper policies and procedures.



Requirements

What you must have:

  • BS degree in ME, EE, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • 7-10+ years’ experience in support of development and production of consumer goods in a global setting are highly desired.
  • Previous experience in a Consumer Product Quality role is desired.
  • Good working knowledge of statistical analysis/problem solving tools, RCCA databases, sampling plans, metrology, process optimization, and ISO9000 quality systems.
  • Experience in global appliance production.
  • FMEA, DOE and Reliability testing experience preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills in a global environment.
  • Self-motivated and experienced in dealing with ambiguity while performing critical project steps.
  • Experienced in defining project prioritization and flexible to shift project focus upon business decisions.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point.
  • Familiarity with software packages such as MiniTab, six sigma, AutoCAD, Solid Works JMP, TrackWise, TeamCenter, R and SAS are desirable.
  • Six Sigma Certification desirable.
  • ASQ CQE certification desirable.
