Job Description



This position is responsible for collecting, reviewing and analyzing information to effectively administer involuntary deductions from pay, such as child support, state and federal tax levies, court ordered creditor orders, student loans and the like.  The position works collaboratively with all departments, including payroll, accounts payable, legal, master data, IT contracted team and outside customers such as state agencies and law firms to ensure timely collection and payment of garnishments.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides outstanding customer service to our internal and external customers
  • Processes court ordered wage garnishments, including child support, student loans, wage assignments, bankruptcy orders, state and federal tax levies
  • Collects and maintains electronic files for all withholding orders
  • Enters wage garnishment orders into payroll system accurately and in a timely manner
  • Sets up garnishment vendors
  • Ensures all garnishment payments are accurate and in compliance with withholding orders and the laws
  • Researches and responds to inquiries from employees, courts, state and federal agencies and others regarding garnishment orders
  • Assists as needed to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of garnishment accounts
  • Maintains confidentiality of all Client and employee information
  • Files Answers and Interrogatories in a timely manner to reduce risk of liability to company
  • Maintains data integrity in system of record as it relates to garnishments


Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of SAP functions
  • SAP reporting capabilities a plus
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of basic federal garnishment laws
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
