Manufacturing Process Engineer

Develops, designs and plans equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities. Develops labor cost analyses, evaluates worker productivity and recommends improvements. Develops or improves workplace designs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Work side by side with the management team to discover inefficiencies in the Plant & business processes and then determine the best ways to bring our business methods in line with our financial goals.
  • Work closely with Site Director to drive results towards aggressive productivity and yield targets through process optimization.
  • Develop new methods to improve productivity, efficiency, and operational costs.
  • Design, test, troubleshoot, and oversee the implementation of new processes.
  • Create and implement new strategies to improve process efficiency as well as supporting startup activities.
  • Understand entire line operation and offer assistance where necessary. 
  • Maintain continuous improvement and preventative maintenance systems that drive Plant KPIs towards desired goals.
  • Support changeovers of line equipment for different products and/or sizes by researching and proposing new technology and process improvements.
  • Facilitate execution of CAPEX projects that you lead from inception, inherit, or are asked to participate in leading.
  • Assist in training operators/mechanics on repairs, adjustments and standard operating procedures. 
  • Comply with all safety requirements by maintaining current KDP and OSHA regulations via in house training and offsite (sponsored) trainings.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • 2-5+ years of engineering experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt; Black Belt highly preferred
  • Experience in driving continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in project management, troubleshooting and repair of Pneumatic Control Systems, Allen Bradley PLC Systems, RSLogix, Process Control Instrumentation, 3 phase (480V) Circuits, Motor starters and controls and electronic circuit boards preferred
  • Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly
