The Manager of Commercial Marketing & Operations, Route to Market is responsible for leading the commercialization of Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) beverage brands across liquid refreshment beverage categories, including company owned and Allied brands. This individual will work cross-functionally to develop annual/multi-year category strategies and commercial plans to drive profitability and sustainable growth. This person serves as the major intersection between our Route to Market (RTM) and Commercialization teams, to manage any issues requiring alignment supporting the delivery of category/brand plans across channels and has the ability to take a cross-channel view to ensure coherency and consistency. Finally, this individual will work the Route to Market teams to ensure the application of key category and channel plans are executed in the respective marketplace.

The ideal candidate will bring 7 or more years of consumer packaged goods (CPG) experience and will have led commercial efforts in the development, implementation, and measurement of category and channel plans across the commercial organization. Knowledge of the beverage industry specifically would be considered a plus.

This role will be located in the KDP Plano HQ office and will require up to 25% travel. This person will report to the Director – Category Commercial, Route to Market.

Responsibilities

The key areas of focus for this role include commercial planning, category assortment, innovation commercialization, and category sales growth strategy.

  • Serve as a commercial representative to RTM organizations (primarily ISO and Company Owned) for category and channel strategy and the entry point for RTM back into the Category Commercialization and Channel Strategy groups
  • Participate in the annual commercial planning process and represent RTM in gathering feedback and executing closed feedback loops
  • Collaborate with RTM and National Retail Sales to ensure the application of category and channel plans are communicated, executed, and syndicated with all stakeholders using Look of Success (LOS), MyDay and other tracking tools
  • Responsible for supporting the process to ensure Bottler system readiness for key growth initiatives
  • Responsible for tracking process compliance and execution completion metrics associated with Perfect Store and temporary KPIs
  • Track in year performance and recommend tactical changes or additions to the commercial programming to address AOP goals
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (RTM, RGM, Category, Channel) the commercial guidance for innovation launches (e.g., market tests, packaging needs, and specific route to market (RTM) opportunities) and ensure in-market plans align with category / channel plans
  • Ensure brand/category/channel team decisions can be actioned against routes to market and geographies
  • Collaborate to communicate an annual calendar of relevant activities, programming, occasion/brand/price/pack/channel (OBPPC) tactics and tools required to deliver against the annual commercial plan
  • Provide RTM input into the marketing/innovation teams regarding brand/category plans and product development
  • Provide on-going leadership and support for company-wide and RTM specific meetings i.e., National Sales Meeting, Bottler Governance meetings, etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience Sales, Marketing, and/or Commercial leadership experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within DSD system
  • Experience in consumer goods or retail products strongly preferred, and beverage industry knowledge is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US or international university; MBA Preferred
