Job Description

The Director, Human Resources partners with senior leaders serving as a strategic advisor and driver of talent and culture initiatives to deliver business results. This includes consultation and leadership in the areas of change management, talent and leadership development, succession planning, performance management, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, organizational design and effectiveness, employee relations, and workforce planning/analytics. This individual will partner with HR Leadership on a variety of issues and serve as project lead on assigned HR initiatives. A key focus is on proactively addressing the people implications of the current and future business needs. He/she implements company systems and processes aligned with industry best practices to make our company a top performing, best-in-class organization.

What you will do: 

  • Drives the HR component of the business strategy through planning, developing, and implementing HR initiatives that increase the productivity, capability, and effectiveness of customer groups.
  • Acts as a client group strategic HR business partner, understanding the business and HR’s impact on results; advises Leadership on key strategic priorities.
  • Provides HR policy, practices, and policy guidance to management and applies knowledge across the disciplines of HR, such as talent acquisition, learning and talent development, organizational effectiveness, change management, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, employment law, internal communications, and leadership. 
  • Partners with the broader HR team to develop and implement strategies with a specific focus on meeting the needs of the assigned client group; partners with HR Centers of Expertise to effectively implement initiatives.
  • Develops human resources solutions and solves people related business problems by monitoring key business metrics, collecting and analyzing data and recommending courses of action.
  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, implementing selected solutions, and coaching and counseling managers and employees.
  • Provides leadership, coaches and develops employees and managers at all levels of the organization; coaches, develops, and mentors site HR team members.
  • Operates at a high level to strategically apply, monitor and enforce employment laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Responsible for providing expertise on laws that impact the company such as EEO, Worker’s Compensation, FSLA, OSHA, OWBPA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA and other federal, state, or local regulations.


What you must have: 

  • BA/BS in Human Resources Management or a related field required; advanced degree and PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Ten plus years’ Human Resources experience in a fast-paced, high-volume, customer-focused environment, with an emphasis on interpersonal relationship building, employee relations, and project management
  • Experience working with a Sales organization preferred
  • Demonstrated success translating business strategies into organizational and HR strategies and actions.
  • Experience leading through change in a complex geographically disbursed organization.
  • Effective negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Excellent demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to solve complex business problems
  • Proven Track record of managing complex HR related projects
  • Ability to motivate and influence the work of others
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills essential
  • Demonstrated ability in handling highly sensitive and confidential matters effectively and discreetly
  • Working knowledge of employment law and benefits administration
  • Familiarity with HRIS databases (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP) and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to regularly travel and occasionally work a flexible schedule
