The Corporate Strategy team is focused on providing broad, strategic vision for Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) and identifying and evaluating new growth initiatives. Working directly with the VP, Strategy, a cross functional leadership team, and with the support of the broader Strategy team, the Director will formulate the company’s strategic vision. She/He will lead problem solving and opportunity evaluation, including strategic and financial analysis and the creation of business plans for high potential opportunities.  The role will be responsible for proactively monitoring changes in the external environment together with progress against internal goals to determine when to adjust vs. stay the course and sharpen execution. This role will also be involved in M&A support including diligence and integration responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will bring 3 or more years of experience with a leading strategy consulting firm, with M&A experience including leading teams in due diligence and post-merger integration projects. A focus in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) or retail products industry is considered an advantage.  Candidates will have demonstrated analytical, financial, and valuation assessment skills, along with the ability to deliver impactful presentations to senior-level executives.  This person will have an MBA from a top ranking institution.

This individual will provide broad, strategic input into potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures to ensure maximum returns on invested capital and consistency with the overall business strategy.  Blending strong internal capabilities with creative, external perspectives, the successful candidate will champion new initiatives that demonstrate breakthrough thinking. With direct access to senior executives, this individual will lead highly visible, cross functional projects that will have a significant impact on the direction and performance of the company.

This role is office based at our Plano, TX headquarters, with 10-20% travel.  Director of Strategy will manage and lead a team of 1-2 Strategy Managers and reports to the Vice President of Strategy. 

Team and Leadership Responsibilities

  • Setting Performance Direction – Assist the VP, Strategy in setting performance objectives for the Corporate Strategy team.  Translate broad business initiatives into clear team objectives and concrete individual goals for self and direct reports, aligning appropriately with other groups for efficient, coordinated action.
  • Motivating others – Create a team environment where everyone wants to do their best and deliver results.
  • Delegating – Broadly share responsibility and accountability of both routine and important tasks and decisions.  Let direct reports finish their own work.
  • Developing and coaching others – Have awareness of each person's career goals; hold development discussions; and provide challenging tasks and assignments to promote development.
  • Holding people accountable – Monitor progress and results; give feedback effectively and make tough decisions when appropriate.

 

Position Responsibilities  

  • Work with senior leaders to help uncover and address strategic business opportunities
  • Conduct research and analyses to shape the overall strategic dialogue
  • Lead team on M&A due diligence and integration
  • Lead strategic projects ('special projects') and cross-functional teams in driving strategic efforts
  • Ability to influence people for change and develop the right relationships to facilitate change
  • Accountable for driving results, defining outcomes and ensuring that the strategy is executed successfully to change business outcomes
  • Identify and define business questions and issues, and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analysis
  • Structure and define approach to new strategic problems
  • Conduct analyses (e.g., financial, strategic, operational, organizational)
  • Conduct research and interviews with in-house and external sources
  • Synthesize complex strategic problems into clear, actionable plans and ensure execution for success

  • Very high level of maturity


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Business, Finance, or other analytical field
  • A Masters in Business Administration from a top ranking institution
  • 8 years of experience in Finance, Strategy, or Marketing , OR 3 years of experience in Management Consulting
  • 4 years of experience performing analytical, financial, and valuation assessments  (Advanced MS Excel modeling skills – comfortable working with large amounts of data)
  • 3 years of experience developing and delivering compelling MS PowerPoint presentations to senior level leadership
